Tulle Poofs

Picture
We plan to hang these with fishing line from the curtain rods (that will be wrapped with tulle) at varying lengths in the fellowship hall windows. We will be experimenting with blue, purple, pink, and ivory tulle and I'll put up pictures of the actual poofs when I make some.

DIY - Centerpieces

Picture
I bought all of the glass containers in centerpiece #1 at Dollar Tree Direct, hydrangeas (50% off @ Hobby Lobby), large ivory floating candles (Hobby Lobby, all 50% off) & small ivory floating candles (Quick Candles).

Centerpiece #2 - Vases were bought from a girl on the NC Board on theknot.com.

Centerpiece #3  - a work in progress. The large vase is from Big Lots, hydrangeas 50% off from Hobby Lobby, the aquamarine water crystals are from
www.codwholesale.com.

The last ('heart') centerpiece is for the sweatheart table and I will be putting my bouquet in the vase.

Cake Topper

Picture
I ordered my cake topper from Crafty Eddy on Aug. 14 and am awaiting it's arrival. I'm going to get my rhinestones off ebay to decorate it with.

Supplies:
Wooden Brock Script P (Eddy)
1440 10SS Hotfix Rhinestones (Ebay seller: threadart)

1) Paint your letter a base color (something I didn't do and I regret not doing!).
2) I used 10ss rhinestones & placed them on the 'P' with glue. Most knotties say use E6000 glue, but I just used some Mod Podge.
3) Let it dry.

You can do this to both sides, but I just put the rhinestone on the front and will GO BACK and paint the sides and back.

Memory Candles

Picture
I decided early on that I would make my own memory candles. My FI has both his grandmother's living and I only have 1 grandmother living. There will be 5 in memory candles of each deceased grandparent. I will place pictures and each grandparents life dates on the memory candles below the "In Loving Memory" (I will make it smaller and move it to the top). These are super easy to make!

Supplies:
Vellum Paper (Staples)
Cylinder Vase (Dollar Tree)
Design (DIY in Publisher)
Water
Floating Candle (Hobby Lobby)

1) simply create what you want on your candle
2) print your design on to vellum paper
3) you can attach the vellum with double sided tape directly to the candle or you can put it on the cylinder vase and put the candle inside the vase.

Favor Bags & Tags

Picture
I was planning to have a candy buffet until I started buying candy here and there and realized it was going to cost quiet a bit more than I want to spend. So instead, I am just going to use the candy I bought and put them in the bags below, sorted by color, in different vases. I bought the small ziplock bags at Wal-Mart (100 for $2/$3) and cut out tags on my cricut the shape of a custom stamp I bought off ebay. My mom is a scrapbooker (as am I) and she had bought this cool tool that I used to attach the tags to the bags. It's attached with one of the plastic things that attaches price tags to clothes. :) COOL if you ask me! Here are some pictures to enjoy.

Serving Set

Picture
Not completely DIY, but I did string the hundreds of beads onto fishing line, wrap that around the handles of the knife and server, and figure out how to get it to stay (I used hot glue). This was a pain in the butt DIY to which FI's reaction was, "I'm more of a plain person" as if they were too much or something. hehe

Escort Card Display

I used an old picture frame I had at the house and covered the backing of it with a pretty fabric I had laying around, glued some ribbons on, folded the cards and hung them on the ribbons. I completed this project in about 30 minutes and for free since I already had everything I needed. We'll be using this for our rehearsal dinner seating.

Just so you know, I have some rearranging to do because I pulled out the cards for some people that just let me know they couldn't stay to eat.
